The Director of Public Safety and Security is a hands-on, collaborative leadership role that is responsible for providing administrative direction and oversight for emergency planning and preparedness, public safety programs and parking ; planning and arranging for safety and security training of security personnel, students, faculty, and staff; preparing reports; managing departmental budget; serving as liaison with state and local law enforcement agencies; and performing related work as required. In addition, this position coordinates and supervises the observance of federal, state, and local laws, and oversees the college rules and regulations regarding safety and security to maintain an appropriate environment for students, faculty, staff, and the general public. This position actively supports and engages in the university’s values for student learning, culture of excellence, diversity, equity and inclusion, sustainability and wellbeing.
