    Job Description

    Allied Universal is seeking a Director of Corporate Spend to oversee the management of Allied Universal’s over $1 billion in third party spend. The Director of Corporate Spend will be responsible for achieving improvements in spend efficiency across the organization. This will be accomplished by working directly with all spend category owners (each an Allied Universal executive) to execute their spend reduction and efficiency initiatives. The Director of Corporate spend will help drive the re-engineering of different internal processes to ensure that spend reduction and management is sustainable and recurring. The Director of Corporate Spend will be responsible for using the following tools and sources of information to develop spend reduction plans and validate achievement: financial results (i.e. general ledger information);and Allied Universal business intelligence tools (Domo) to aggregate detailed spend and invoice data. The Director of Corporate Spend will work closely with Allied Universal’s major vendors (fleet, real estate, uniforms) to ensure that we are partnering most effectively to reduce our costs. The Director of Corporate spend will work closely with the Financial Planning & Analysis team to establish annual operating budgets.

    Primary responsibilities for the Director include:

    • Responsible for managing Allied Universal third party spend, and achieving targeted reductions in this spend
    • Working with Spend Category owners to achieve their initiatives, and evaluate their progress based on the completion of milestones and validation of spend reduction achievements
    • Track and monitor the spend reduction initiatives (validate impact via financial data)
    • Maintain the critical third party spend information in the AUS Business Intelligence system (Domo)
    • Collaborate closely with the AUS FP&A team to provide inputs into the annual operational budget; work with the AUS FP&A team to update the status of key initiatives in the quarterly financial reporting
    • Collaborate closely with the AUS Strategic Sourcing team on cross enterprise initiatives
    • Collaborate closely with the operating team of our Financial sponsors to execute key spend reduction and demand management initiatives
    • Occasional travel to Allied Universal corporate locations
    • Work with all levels in the organization to identify, analyze and solve problems and create opportunities for continuous improvement
    • Maintain confidentiality of all information and data



    The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree, with distinction preferred, in any business-related, engineering, or quantitative field:

    • Proven track record of positively influencing teams and their leaders
    • Meticulous attention to detail in evaluating and recommending changes to current processes
    • Ability to connect and engage with all teams at all levels and treat everyone as equal
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Strong financial aptitude; CPA qualification strongly preferred
    • Management Consulting experience strongly preferred
    • Experience working effectively with large teams strongly preferred
    • Experience facilitating and/or leading training programs strongly preferred
    • Proven and demonstrated experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with at least one business intelligence tool is preferred (Domo, Tableau, Alteryx, Microsoft BI, etc)
    • Internal candidates must have fluency in Allied Universal systems
