    Job Description

    Allied Universal Security Systems is hiring a Business Development Manager in Los Angeles, CA.  Primary responsibilities include:

    • Assist in the development and implementation of strategic marketing plans, sales plans and forecasts to achieve corporate and regional sales objectives;
    • Executes marketing plan by actively preparing sales through cold calling networking, and initiating sales prospects;
    • Ensures effective control of marketing results, and takes corrective action to guarantee that achievement of marketing objectives falls within designated budgets
    • Researches and monitors competitor sales and marketing activities
    • Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners
    • Actively develops and maintains relationships with target clients, effectively utilizing available Universal marketing materials
    • Prepares marketing activity reports and presents to management
    • Establishes and maintains a consistent corporate image throughout all materials, communications and events
    • Implements sales forecasting activities
    • Represents company at trade association meetings to promote brand recognition in accordance with company objectives
    • Meets with key clients, and maintains relationships in negotiating and closing deals
    • Liaison between sales department and other sales related units
    • Assists other departments within organization to prepare manuals and technical publications
    • Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion
    • Reviews and analyzes sales performances against programs, quotes and plans to determine effectiveness
    • Directs product research and development.


    The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree plus at least 4 years outside sales experience in a B2B environment, preferably selling secuirty systems  In addition, we seek the following:

    • Demonstrated ability to work in a team oriented sales environment that allows for collaboration with the operations team in identifying and resolving issues and concerns
    • Proven track record of excellence in sales activity (awards, top rankings, etc.) using consultative sales techniques
    • A true hunter with the ability to leverage social media and professional networks (i.e. LinkedIn) to prospect and follow up with consistency.  Attend professional networking and community events when appropriate
    • Superior, world class interpersonal and communication skills as well as solid writing skills
    • Dedication to high quality customer service delivery and integrity through proven client and customer relationships
    • Proficient in web-based applications (i.e., and programs (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint), to effectively edit and create reports, database entries and presentation materials
    • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to strategically plan sales calls, sales presentations and cold calling
    • Highly effective leader with the ability to build strong relationships internally with all levels of the organization and manage under difficult service delivery timeframes
    • Sales training on strategic consultative selling techniques
    • Experience using a formal, defined sales process
    • Ability to travel throughout all areas of the territory, including some overnight travel
