Job Description

The Emerging Leader Academy Program (ELA) is designed to provide participants with rotational experience that advances growth and develops invaluable insight into several functions within Allied Universal Operations. Our goal is to prepare each participant for a future in operations by providing functional experiences that enables participants to learn, contribute, and integrate with our organization.


During this twelve month program, participants will perform relevant assignments in rotations within the functional departments of Operations and Center of Excellence. Each rotation provides a well-rounded exposure/experience that includes on-the-job and leadership responsibilities, while learning more about the overall business. Included in the rotations will be a final presentation to Senior Leadership about key learning.  Seven positions (one per region) will be available. Please see below for details on the position.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Those duties necessary to meet the minimum requirements of the position.  Other duties may be assigned:

1. Learn and apply knowledge, skills and abilities in every rotational assignment

    • Security Professional
    • Field Supervisor
    • Staffing Specialist
    • Human Resources Coordinator
    • Operations Manager

2.  Understand management activities such as scheduling, evaluations, inspections and contract management

3. Understand company and regional processes

4. Meet monthly, quarterly and/or yearly objectives as set by the Regional Vice President and Training & Organizational Effectiveness

5. Maintain confidentiality of all information and data

QUALIFICATIONS:  The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or Business Administration. In addition, we require the following skills:

  • Proven excellent interpersonal, leadership and organizational skills
  • Ability to develop and grow relationships
  • Ability to make decisions and conduct courageous conversations
  • Manage multiple tasks with ability to manage multiple priorities and complex situations on an ongoing basis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate in a timely manner any changes or recommendations that could have impact on our service image or brand
  • In-depth understanding of business financials
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented management environment while having an entrepreneurial attitude
  • Overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher



  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use both hands, is frequently required to stand, sit, stoop, talk and hear (communicate verbally in person and via regular telephone equipment), and must be able to read computer screens, correspondence and reports in English.
  • The employee must constantly walk, stand, reach with both hands and arms, and must be able to drive a vehicle. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  May be required to climb stairs on an intermittent basis at client sites. 
  • The job is generally performed in an office setting; however, during site visits the employee may be subject to adverse conditions such as rain, cold or heat for short periods of time.
  • The ambient noise level is usually quiet, consisting of normal conversations, business machines (copiers, printers, etc.) and telephones, but occasionally may be above-normal for portions of the shift.
  • The employee must be able to concentrate on details, work under deadline pressures, apply sound logic and judgment, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities.
  • Must be able to focus and multi-task in a busy environment, with the ability to successfully handle stressful situations in a calm and professional manner. Includes being able to effectively manage multiple employees with diverse personalities and engage them to perform at optimum levels.
  • Must be able to clearly speak, read and write English.
