Job Description

Allied Universal® is hiring an Account Manager. The Security Account Manager is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic direction, operational oversight, and continuous improvement of all physical security, security administration, emergency management, and compliance-related programs across assigned facilities and operations. This position serves as the primary security leader, ensuring the protection of people, assets, information, operations, and brand reputation through the implementation of best-in-class security practices and risk management strategies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Security Program Leadership

 

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve comprehensive site security programs, policies, standards, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

• Establish strategic security objectives that align with organizational goals, operational requirements, and industry best practices.

• Provide leadership and oversight for all physical security operations across assigned locations.

• Serve as the primary security advisor to site leadership and business stakeholders on security-related matters.

• Ensure security programs remain effective, scalable, and responsive to evolving threats and business requirements.

• Develop long-term security strategies that support business continuity, operational resilience, and organizational growth.

 

Security Operations Management

 

• Direct and oversee daily security operations, including security staffing, control center activities, patrol operations, visitor management, and incident response functions.

• Manage security control center operations, including monitoring of video surveillance systems, access control platforms, intrusion detection systems, alarm monitoring systems, and other integrated security technologies.

• Ensure the effective operation, maintenance, and optimization of all security systems and infrastructure.

• Evaluate operational performance and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and service delivery.

• Establish operational procedures that ensure consistent execution of security services across all shifts and locations.

 

Emergency Management and Incident Response

 

• Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of emergency management and crisis response programs.

• Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, drills, tabletop exercises, and response planning initiatives.

• Serve as the security lead during incidents, emergencies, and business disruptions.

• Coordinate with local law enforcement, fire departments, emergency medical services, and other first responders to ensure effective incident management and response capabilities.

• Develop and maintain emergency communication and escalation protocols.

• Conduct post-incident reviews and lessons-learned assessments to strengthen future response capabilities.

 

Investigations and Risk Management

 

• Lead and oversee investigations involving security incidents, policy violations, workplace violence concerns, theft, fraud, misconduct, and other security-related matters.

• Conduct root-cause analysis and develop corrective action plans to prevent recurrence of incidents.

• Maintain investigative documentation, case management records, and evidence handling procedures.

• Perform comprehensive security risk assessments and vulnerability analyses.

• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks affecting personnel, facilities, operations, and assets.

• Recommend and implement security enhancements based on identified risks and emerging threat intelligence.

 

Security Technology and Systems Management

 

• Provide subject matter expertise for physical security technologies, including access control systems, video management systems, intrusion detection systems, visitor management platforms, and integrated security solutions.

• Lead security technology projects from concept through implementation, commissioning, and ongoing support.

• Develop system design specifications and operational requirements for new security installations and upgrades.

• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, vendors, and contractors to ensure successful deployment of security solutions.

• Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to enhance security effectiveness and operational efficiency.

 

Compliance, Audits, and Governance

 

• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, security standards, contractual obligations, and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.

• Develop and maintain security governance frameworks and compliance programs.

• Conduct security audits, inspections, assessments, and program evaluations.

• Prepare and maintain documentation required for regulatory reviews, audits, and compliance reporting.

• Monitor changes in security regulations and industry standards and implement necessary program updates.

• Support internal and external audit activities and ensure timely resolution of findings.

 

Performance Management and Analytics

 

• Establish, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and service delivery metrics.

• Utilize data analytics and performance reporting to identify trends, measure effectiveness, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

• Develop dashboards, recurring reports, and executive-level presentations related to security performance.

• Analyze operational data to improve service delivery, reduce risk, and optimize resource allocation.

• Identify opportunities for innovation, automation, and operational efficiencies across security programs.

 

Vendor and Contract Management

 

• Manage security service providers, subcontractors, consultants, and external partners.

• Conduct vendor performance evaluations and ensure contractual obligations are met.

• Review service delivery metrics and implement corrective actions when performance standards are not achieved.

• Support procurement activities, contract negotiations, and vendor selection processes.

• Maintain effective working relationships with third-party providers to ensure high-quality service delivery.

 

Financial and Budget Management

 

• Develop and manage security operating and capital budgets.

• Monitor expenditures and ensure financial accountability across security programs and projects.

• Support forecasting, budget planning, and cost-management initiatives.

• Ensure compliance with financial policies and contractual provisions.

• Identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency while maintaining service quality and security effectiveness.

 

Leadership and Personnel Management

 

• Lead, mentor, and develop security personnel, supervisors, and managers.

• Establish clear performance expectations, goals, and accountability measures for security teams.

• Ensure personnel are properly trained, licensed, qualified, and capable of performing assigned responsibilities.

• Oversee security officer background screening, licensing, certification, registration, and compliance requirements.

• Develop succession planning strategies to ensure continuity of critical security functions.

• Foster a culture of professionalism, integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement.

• Maintain personnel records and ensure documentation is readily available for audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.

• Identify key personnel critical to operational success and implement retention and development strategies.

• Communicate roles, responsibilities, operational expectations, and compliance requirements effectively across all levels of the organization.

 

Training and Awareness

 

• Develop and administer security training programs for security personnel and employees.

• Deliver employee-facing security awareness programs covering workplace safety, threat awareness, emergency response, and security best practices.

• Ensure security personnel receive ongoing professional development and regulatory training.

• Evaluate training effectiveness and implement improvements based on organizational needs and emerging risks.

 

Stakeholder Engagement

 

• Build and maintain strong partnerships with business leaders, facilities management, environmental health and safety teams, human resources, legal departments, and operational stakeholders.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for security-related matters and initiatives.

• Collaborate with leadership teams to support organizational objectives and operational priorities.

• Represent the organization in interactions with government agencies, law enforcement partners, industry associations, and external security organizations.

 

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

 

• Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Business Administration, Emergency Management, Risk Management, Homeland Security, or a related field preferred.

• Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive leadership experience in corporate security, physical security, law enforcement, military, risk management, emergency management, or related disciplines.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience managing security personnel, vendors, contractors, and cross-functional teams.

• Extensive knowledge of physical security technologies, including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, alarm monitoring, and integrated security systems.

• Proven experience leading investigations, incident response activities, and security risk assessments.

• Demonstrated project management experience involving security system implementation, facility security enhancements, and operational improvement initiatives.

• Strong understanding of security regulations, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.

• Experience managing budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships.

• Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.

• Experience leveraging metrics, reporting tools, and data analytics to improve performance and operational outcomes.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):

 

• Professional security certification such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Professional Certified Investigator (PCI), or equivalent.

• Experience supporting large corporate, healthcare, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, campus, research, or critical infrastructure environments.

• Background in emergency preparedness, crisis management, business continuity, or enterprise risk management.

• Experience managing multi-site security operations and geographically dispersed teams.

• Knowledge of security technology integration, system design, and security architecture principles.

• Experience working within highly regulated industries.
