Job Description

Allied Universal® Technology Services is hiring a CAD Technician II. The CAD Technician II produces advanced CAD drawings with minimal supervision and supports coordination across multiple project stakeholders. This role requires increased technical proficiency, strong project ownership, and the ability to quickly pivot between priorities to support workload balancing across regions and the broader CAD organization.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Independently produce, modify, and review detailed CAD drawings from engineered designs and specifications
  • Ensure drawings comply with CAD standards, specifications, and project requirements prior to release
  • Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and sales teams to resolve design conflicts
  • Convert conceptual and preliminary designs into construction and installation documents
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects while meeting deadlines
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to CAD Technician I staff
  • Maintain accurate drawing files, documentation, and version control
  • Track and allocate time accurately across projects

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressive CAD experience
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD across multiple versions
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Proficiency with common business and documentation tools, including word processing, spreadsheet applications, email, messaging platforms, and PDF review/editing software

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):

  • Associate Degree or technical training
  • Experience with low‑voltage security systems
  • Exposure to Revit or 3D modeling tools

 

BENEFITS:

  • Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
  • Medical, dental, vision, retirement plan, basic life, AD&D, and disability insurance
  • Eight paid holidays annually, five sick days, and four personal days
  • Vacation time is offered at an accrual rate of 3.08 hours biweekly. Unused vacation is only paid out where required by law.
