Job Description

Allied Universal® is hiring a Security Systems Programming Technician. The Security Systems Technician is responsible for performing skilled security technician work in the service/repair, alteration, installation, and maintenance of all security related systems for a high profile customer; resolving immediate operational and /or safety concerns and maintaining a preventive maintenance program. The diverse nature of this position requires a high degree of technical knowledge. Additionally, the ability to evaluate data from multiple systems that are to be supported by the incumbent is critical in order to be able to provide management with effective solutions.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitation of Security Service and equipment repair for all North America sites
  • Tier 2 technical support of the Security Access Control Systems
  • North America Security Systems installation and maintenance technical support
  • Project programmer for new and ongoing security application projects
  • Support for North America-Security related applications
  • Develop collaborative relationships with peers and department colleagues to foster alignment, improve understanding, speed of delivery and productivity
  • Interact with end users to provide software and hardware support
  • Interact with vendors to assist with project hardware and software testing
  • Evaluate and monitor security equipment to ensure all systems and hardware are operational and preventative maintenance is performed
  • Monitor expenses as needed and within limits
  • Foster positive working relationships with departments responsible for monitoring repair and installation work
  • Support and education of Tier 1 technical support staff on their duties

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field of study
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in security systems management program delivery
  • Experience delivering in a challenging, fast-paced corporate environment, preferably for a large, multinational corporation
  • Experience working with the following security system technologies:
    • Honeywell ProWatch
    • Intellex
    • Access Sentry
    • ExacqVision
    • Immix Sureview
    • Web Development Tools
  • Technical knowledge of key business tools; ability to analyze complex problems, generate multi-dimensional solutions; strong knowledge of security, political and law enforcement issues that directly affect or impact people, information, and products
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to interact with senior management effectively
  • Organizational ability and time management skills
  • Analytical and strategic thinking skills necessary to troubleshoot escalated issues and their closure with a minimum down time
  • Ability to successfully work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of the company; deep understanding of how their area of responsibility relates to other areas and the business overall
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to supervise and coordinate security vendor activities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):

  • Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field of study
  • Technical certifications in electrical installation and repair
