Job Description

  • Pay is $42.50 per hour
  • Must have previous law enforcement investigative experience
  • This is a part-time position, Monday and Friday, 7am to 3pm

Our canine group, under Allied Universal® Enhanced Protection Services, is hiring a Mail Investigative Screener. The Mail Investigative Screener provides comprehensive screening of mail and parcels to an assigned facility.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adhere with industry best practices to screen all mail and parcels
  • Identify and segregate any suspicious or unusual delivery items in accordance with client guidance
  • Conduct screening for explosive threats and components used to construct improvised explosive devices (IEDs)
  • Conduct analyses/screening to detect nerve agents, blood agents, pulmonary (choking) agents, blistering agents, industrials chemicals and irritants
  • Conduct screening for all radiological/nuclear threats to prevent nuclear detonation or exposure of harmful radioactive material
  • Engage with client representatives as directed in a professional manner utilizing a high level of discretion
  • Properly wear and operates individual protective equipment

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience using different techniques for biological threats and other related high-risk parcel threats
  • Knowledge of utilization of interpretation of x-ray to inspect mail/parcels for prohibited items and components of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs)
  • Knowledge of use of Downdraft table for examination of mail/parcels
  • Knowledge of testing and calibration procedures for CBRNE screening equipment to ensure operating at proper levels
  • Knowledge of U.S. Postal Service and commercial delivery entity protocols
  • Knowledge of handling of sensitive mail, parcels, and items that are destined for senior level government officials
  • Prior Law Enforcement Investigative experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):

  • Military experience
  • Prior experience working on a government contract
