Job Description

Allied Universal® is hiring a Human Resources Representative. The Human Resources Representative is responsible for supporting the high profile customer with employee hiring and onboarding, personnel records, background screening, group insurance administration and monthly reconciliation, Workers’ Compensation, unemployment claims, government compliance reporting/planning and leave of absence. The Human Resources Manager is also responsible for ensuring compliance with corporate policies and applicable federal, state, and local laws.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, update, interpret, and implement policies; influence and train new policies across the fleet; continuously review and evaluate effectiveness of policies and procedures to ensure alignment with best practices and practical implementation
  • Develop and implement all training for management, administrative, and operational staff; select and compile established training materials to design and implement a site or contract-specific training and development program
  • Review the work of administrative team members; edit, modify, redact information as needed
  • Build schedules, input payroll, help with the acquisitions of Vistra contract, and make sure all administrative staff on site is trained
  • Conduct needed preparation and maintenance of contract administrative correspondence, databases, and reporting.
  • Oversight responsibility for contract administrative reporting requirements including record retention.
  • Maintain union relationships; oversee compliance with Collective Bargaining Agreements or contracts and ensure changes are put into action
  • Oversee the recruitment, selection, and placement process (e.g., prepares application packets, hire packets, schedule interviews and pre/post-employment training, enter data in the Human Resources Information System [HRIS])
  • Responsible for filing and maintenance of contract personnel and suitability files and documents
  • Oversee administrative duties (e.g., applicant flow and hiring, unemployment and workers compensation reporting, and benefits administration)
  • Affirmative Action Program compliance and planning; ensure compliance to policy of all recruiting, selection, and placement processes; recommend corrective actions as needed
  • Ensure overall contract compliance regarding employee basic and preferred qualifications, screening, training, and licensing
  • Attend weekly meetings with the Operations to align organizational goals and targets
  • Travel regularly throughout designated areas
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable federal, state, and local laws
  • Maintain all corporate and site personnel programs, files, benefit programs, and other data pertaining to the day-to-day administration of plant security operations and corporate requirements

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

  • Must possess one or more of the following:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Criminal Justice, or related field of study
    • Associate degree in Business, Human Resources, Criminal Justice, or related field of study with a minimum of five (5) years of Human Resources management/supervisory experience
    • High School diploma or equivalent with a minimum of ten (10) years of Human Resources management/supervisory experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years of Human Resources management/supervisory experience
  • Experience conducting applicant sourcing, interviewing job applicants, and conducting employee onboarding in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Experience with employee relations, development, and engagement as well as policy implementation and interpretation
  • Work history must include:
    • Demonstrated knowledge of benefits administration
    • Significant experience in employee and labor relations
    • Excellent organizational skills that include the ability to multi-task and prioritize work
    • Sound understanding of personnel and compliance records management
    • Sound understanding of policy interpretation and implementation
    • Strong consultative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to communicate effectively with leadership
    • Sound understanding of personnel and compliance records management
    • Ability to manage the performance review process and assist other management positions in completing performance reviews
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and civil rights legislation
  • Effective oral and written communication skills; able to write informatively, clearly, and accurately
  • Planning and organizing skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Problem solving skills; able to assess and evaluate situations effectively
  • Forecasting and predicting skills; able to synthesize facts, concepts, principles
  • Coaching, mentoring, motivating skills; able to mediate conflict with tact, diplomacy
  • Active listening skills; able to identify critical issues quickly and accurately

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):

  • Certificate in Human Resources Management through an accredited institution
  • Professional Human Resources (PHR) certification or higher
  • Proficient skills in Human Resources Information System (HRIS) applications
  • Proficient skills in the use of Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
  • Associate’s degree or higher in Human Resources or a closely related field
  • Prior Human Resources experience in a service industry business
  • Prior experience working in a union environment
