Job Description

Position onsite at our New York City office. 

 

Our canine group, under Allied Universal® Enhanced Protection Services, is hiring a Payroll Coordinator. The Payroll Coordinator position is located in the New York City headquarters, supporting 1000+ employees of the company. The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for the accurate and timely administration preparing and processing payroll as well as maintain payroll related data.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and process both weekly and bi-weekly hourly payroll for approximately 1,000+ employees
  • Organize, maintain, and update employee wage, tax, and personal information in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS)
  • Investigate and promptly respond to complex employee inquiries regarding wages, taxes, Paid Time Off (PTO), and deductions in a clear, concise, and timely manner
  • Review and record Paid Time Off (PTO) requests for biweekly salaried and hourly payroll
  • Generate payroll adjustments as necessary
  • Produce and reconcile timesheets to certified payroll reports and identify and resolve any discrepancies
  • Assist in periodic audits, both internally and externally

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field of study
  • Minimum of two (2) years of payroll and timekeeping experience
  • Professional interpersonal and communication skills to effectively document and report important information with all levels of the organization
  • Exceptional attention to detail to ensure all process steps are followed and data/information is correct
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlines
  • Highly proficient and fully functional in the Microsoft Office applications and able to effectively utilize all available office management technology
  • Professional, articulate, and able to use good independent judgment and discretion
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Service provider background
  • WinTeam and ePAY experience
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation
