Job Description

Allied Universal® is hiring a Corporate Physical Security Systems Administrator. The Corporate Physical Security Systems Administrator supports many aspects of the company’s physical security system. The Security Systems Administrator will coordinate and communicate between our client's project personnel and any physical security integration companies that will be performing installation, testing and maintenance/repair services and to manage the day to day needs of the client Corporate security systems. The Corporate Physical Security Systems Administrator will ensure compliance with security system standards, creates training aids, and provides second-level support for security officers and control center operators.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor system health, identify anomalies, and oversee system operations; evaluate access control processes to detect deficiencies and design and implement performance improvement measures
  • Coordinate with security vendors and internal teams for installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance of physical security systems, including:
    • Access control system software and related hardware
    • Video management systems
    • IP video cameras
    • Burglar/intrusion detection systems
  • Maintain detailed documentation on procedures, equipment, inventory, and system configurations
  • Manage networked security equipment to optimize system performance; collaborate with additional key stakeholders to include personnel from client facilities, safety, and IT departments; ensure access control principles have met all compliance requirements
  • Commission physical security systems to ensure correct configuration and complete functionality;
  • Serve as the primary contact for internal users regarding system issues
  • Support incident response efforts by troubleshooting outages; developing and implementing temporary mitigation measures
  • Develop training and guidance material for local facilities managers to perform system lockdown functions during emergencies as well as routine holiday or even schedules; coordinate and deliver training
  • Perform initial troubleshooting and escalate issues as needed for resolution
  • Create and provide training to security professionals and leadership to ensure compliance with access control policies

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Education or work experience in security system technology, networking, and/or administration (e.g., system management, configuration, installation, etc.)
  • Experience with access control and video management software platforms
  • Familiarity with the hardware components of an access control system.
  • Basic understanding of IP communications
  • Security hardware and software troubleshooting skills for system problems and outages
  • Understanding of building construction processes and installation of physical security hardware
  • Proficiency with Windows-based operating systems and related applications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):

  • Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field of study
  • Experience with Honeywell ProWatch, Axis Camera Station, AXIS cameras
  • Professional security system design and integration experience
  • Knowledge of/certifications in Milestone, and Qognify/Ocularis video management systems
  • American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) membership
  • Genetec or Axis certifications
