Job Description

AMAG, an Allied Universal® Company, is hiring a Technical Trainer. The Technical Trainer develops and delivers training programs to ensure our customers and internal teams can efficiently use our software and related tools. The Technical Trainer will conduct onsite and web-based training for new and existing customers. The Trainer develops and delivers interactive, hands-on training sessions tailored to various user roles. This position may require up to 25% travel. The Technical Trainer role requires the employee to have a home office with high-speed internet. Occasional travel is required to customer locations. Due to the training audience working across multiple time zones, the Trainer must provide availability from 8:00 am - 8:00 pm Eastern time. The Technical Trainer is expected to develop and maintain expertise in one area of AMAG’s product lines, and are familiar with, but not necessarily, expert in others.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide training on products to internal teams or smaller groups of customers in the field using hands-on methodologies. Internal groups include sales, product support, and international sales
  • Develop and execute internal training programs to onboard and upskill employees
  • Train internal teams on new software features, updates, and industry best practices
  • Create training materials for internal training and work closely with instructional design manager and other instructors when creating training materials
  • Create technical documents for training purposes, course handouts and create equipment evaluations
  • Coordinate and schedule training for internal and external customer groups
  • Provide refresher courses and ongoing development sessions for employees
  • Ensure employees have a deep understanding of the product to effectively support customers
  • Develop learning paths for internal and external audiences as new equipment is introduced to the Security Market
  • Assist customers in understanding best practices and maximizing the software’s capabilities
  • Maintain and update customer training materials, including user guides, FAQs, and video tutorials
  • Gather feedback to continuously improve training content and delivery

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

  • Must possess one of the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, or other private security or law enforcement related field
  • Associate’s degree in Education, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, or other private security or law enforcement related field with a minimum of three (3) years of classroom training experience
  • High school diploma with a minimum of five (5) years of classroom training experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years of technical experience, including Access Control in technical support capacity
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience or product knowledge in security products
  • Extensive experience presenting technical information
  • Extensive use and familiarity of video and audio software such as Camtasia or Adobe Captivate or certification in these courses
  • Demonstrated the ability to communicate effectively to small groups

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):

  • Bachelor's degree in computing, networking, or software creation
  • Certification in security, safety, or training
  • Prior experience in teaching in the fire service, security industry, law enforcement and/or military
