Job Description

Allied Universal® is hiring a Junior Security Systems Engineer. The Junior Security Systems Engineer will manage and maintain the IT infrastructure that supports security systems for a high profile client. The Junior Security Systems Engineer will manage system related projects to include configuration, testing, and implementation of new systems, working closely with our customer’s technical team and external vendors to ensure system health and enhance security infrastructure. This role will develop and implement training materials and guidance documents for Allied Universal security professional and Operations Center personnel.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for the Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) and client regarding the use and management of security systems
  • Create and conduct training and documentation for GSOC Operators and Supervisors
  • Conduct coaching, counseling, and hiring of GSOC Operators and Supervisors
  • Configure, commission, manage, and maintain client security systems; provide global support for testing and commissioning of new sites and systems, both remotely and on-site
  • Manage and maintain IT infrastructure that supports client security systems
  • Serve as a project manager on assigned client security systems projects
  • Create, execute, and provide progress reports on assigned projects to the Senior Security Systems Engineer and the client
  • Manage and maintain users access to client security systems
  • Consistently maintain documentation, follow standardized procedures, and ensure timely notification to appropriate stakeholders
  • Perform additional functions, duties and specific tasks of a similar nature and scope as necessary to achieve assigned business objectives
  • Respond to security system issues, requests and/or risks identified by automated alarm monitoring systems and customer staff/vendors
  • Addresses security system issues, requests, and risks identified by automated alarm monitoring systems or reported by client staff and vendors; respond to and troubleshoot global critical system failures
  • Provide project support to appropriate Physical Security Managers and assigns appropriate project related tasks to vendors
  • Provide purpose and direction to integrators on required service and policies to meet client expectations; schedule and assist regional integrators with security system repair
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the effective operation, management, and maintenance of security systems
  • Consult with regional teams to review and onboard new security software and hardware into the Physical Security environment
  • Perform remote and on-site first level troubleshooting for global security systems
  • Coordinate with the Client Technical Security Manager to maintain proper system and hardware health for customer security systems
  • Support testing of new systems in development (test) environments; conducts onboarding and testing of new systems into the client security systems environment
  • Provide technical solutions and recommendations that will enhance the overall security infrastructure globally
  • Provide technical and operational analysis of client systems to enhance security infrastructure and operations globally
  • Analyze client data and systems to identify trends and system issues, schedule vendor support or providing recommendations based on the severity of issues

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Technical training and/or certifications in access control systems, video management, video intercom systems and/or enterprise-wide systems within global complex working environments
  • Minimum of one (1) year of industry physical security technology and/or risk analysis experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of responsible experience in the security industry and/or business management
  • Experience in technical root cause analysis, and systems monitoring
  • Understanding of perimeter and physical security concepts, access control, and video management systems
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, sharing information with a varied audience
  • Knowledge of security operations and procedures
  • Knowledge of operations for a 24x7 monitoring center, including learning a variety of security and safety devices and controls
  • Ability to use a computer and a working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Planning, organizing and leadership skills
  • Strong customer service and service delivery orientation skills
  • Ability to take initiative and achieve results within constraints of standard operating procedures
  • Ability to carry out multiple assignments concurrently
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the external environment and organization
  • Ability to synthesize and arrive at logical conclusions with input derived from multiple sources
  • Ability to determine course of action based upon detailed written instructions

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):

  • One or more of the following certifications:
    • Enterprise Lenel OnGuard, Brivo, biometrics a, Everbridge Command Center, Service Now, and key / locker management
    • Advanced Milestone, Exact Vision, Eagle Eye
    • Access control panels, IP cameras, sensors, locks, IP bio-readers, IP intercoms and IP key management
    • Training and/or certifications in Network / IP Technologies
    • Life safety, fire detection and fires suppression systems
    • General low-voltage - sound and data
