Job Description

Allied Universal® Event Services is hiring a Event Security Operations Planning and Preparedness Services Manager. The Event Security Operations (ESO) Planning and Preparedness Services Manager will oversee the security operations for Tier 1 and Tier 2 onsite events at an assigned client location. This role involves comprehensive event security planning, coordination, and management to ensure the safety and security of events across North America and Latin America. The Event Security Operations Planning and Preparedness Services Manager must be able to travel as required for event locations.

 

The position is based onsite in Boulder, CO (not hybrid or remote). This position is considered salary non-exempt at $60.10 per hour ($125,000 per year) plus potential for overtime. Relocation assistance may be considered for qualified candidates. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Pre-Event Planning:

  • Ensure readiness of the Incident Command Post (ICP) as the central coordination hub for all event security-related incidents
  • Develop detailed work plans, team briefings, event schedules, operations plans, staffing and service requirements, and ICP plans aligned with ESO guidelines
  • Develop data collection, presentation, and reporting tools to inform event security operations of risk assessment and operational readiness
  • Collaborate with Event Security Leads; design relevant tabletop exercises and simulations that present current security landscapes and realistic scenarios
  • Coordinate Instructional Continuity Planning (ICP) requirements and lead rehearsals with cross-functional event teams
  • Provide technical support and training on incident management tools such as CCTV and communications technology to client personnel and other designated stakeholders

During Events:

  • Monitor critical risk areas via third-party event monitoring software (including, without limitation, CCTV and alarms)
  • Monitor Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) and Publicly Available Information (PAI) for any potential threats to the event
  • Maintain timely and accurate global awareness of critical events that could impact the event
  • Address and dispatch responses to event alarms
  • Facilitate Incident Command Communications from Boulder, CO at the ICP in the event of a major incident
  • Support the ICP and Client’s Global Security Operations Center personnel with response and dispatch to event alarms
  • Continuously monitor and manage the radio channel used by client and security officers in connection with security at the event location and other Google campus sites
  • Where required, initiate and maintain contact with local authority or emergency medical services to the extent their services are required in response to an emergency or breach in client’s security or safety standards

Post Event Review:

  • Within 21 days of the event, collaborate with Event Security Leads to capture lessons learned and incorporate them into future event planning standard operating procedures
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of Event Security Operations contingency plans; develop and implement resolutions to any deficiencies discovered
  • Collect and compile relevant event-specific documentation and manage data, including security operational plans, emergency response plans, decision support matrices, incident and response logs, security staffing deployment, attendee/guest lists, and action item reports
  • Conduct hotwash reviews and after-action reviews documenting lessons learned and incorporating relevant learnings into program documentation

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification in ICS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, and 800
  • Minimum of five (5) years of corporate event security or crisis management experience with a firm grasp of formal crisis management framework and processes
  • Project/program management experience in the safety/security field, preferably in a fast-paced global organization
  • Proven experience in event security management, particularly in high-impact/high-visibility events
  • Strong collaboration skills with multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly effective communicator with excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with executives and senior leaders
  • Professionalized attention to detail and ability to manage resources and timelines while maintaining clear, consistent, and concise communication with all stakeholders
  • Ability to present ideas, bring strategies to life, and incorporate feedback into one’s iterative work
  • Expertise in incident command operations and emergency response
  • Proficient in the use of incident management tools such as CCTV and communications technology
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to analyze data and provide comprehensive reports and documentation

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):

  • Bachelor’s degree in emergency management, homeland security, public health or a related field
